random steam_id_pending?

lists@kelker.info
Hi list,

I've recently noticed the following:
on a CS:GO server I'm (seems randomly?) getting
STEAM_ID_PENDING on some user actions in the logs, even if
they're already playing some time on the server and also if previous
log entries already stated their ID correctly. Example (shortened log):

version : 1.35.5.5/13555 390/6561 secure  [G:1:10753]
os      :  Linux
type    :  community dedicated
map     : surf_megamachine_go
players : 3 humans, 0 bots (24/0 max) (not hibernating)

# userid name uniqueid connected ping loss state rate adr

L 10/26/2016 - 21:56:49: Team "TERRORIST" triggered

L 10/26/2016 - 21:56:49: Team "CT" scored "2" with "1" players
L 10/26/2016 - 21:56:49: Team "TERRORIST" scored "7" with "1" players
L 10/26/2016 - 21:56:49: World triggered "Round_End"
L 10/26/2016 - 21:56:49: "Player 3<7><STEAM_ID_PENDING><Spectator>" say
"rank"
L 10/26/2016 - 21:57:01: World triggered "Round_Start"

L 10/26/2016 - 21:57:14: "Player 3<7><STEAM_ID_PENDING><Spectator>" say
"rank"
L 10/26/2016 - 21:57:22: "Player 3<7><STEAM_1:1:463ZZZZ><Spectator>"
disconnected (reason "Disconnect")

A good example here is Player 3, who has STEAM ID STEAM_1:1:463ZZZ as
logged at 10/26/2016 - 21:56:42.
Later on, as he writes "rank" to the chat, it says STEAM_ID_PENDING again.
As well as Player 2, who logged STEAM ID STEAM_1:1:6110YYYY at line 5 of
the log after the status message.
Right after that, the log shows Player
2<3><STEAM_ID_PENDING><TERRORIST>" triggered "round_mvp".

Side note:
I noticed that while searching for a reason why HLStatsX CE doesn't show
up the ingame rank lists and think,
that this might be the reason for it as the plugin probably cannot link
the player name to it's database entries.

Has anyone else noticed something similar or am I missing something here?

Thanks in advance !

Have a great day!
Kevin

Re: random steam_id_pending?

Ian

Updating to the latest version of Sourcemod 1.8 or 1.9 will solve this issue.

Hey Ian,

upgrading from Sourcemod 1.8 Build 5942 to Build 5948 really fixed it.
Thank you so much and sorry for being tardy - should've tested upgrading
SM before posting here, but since it seemed to be part of the non-plugin
messages, I (falsely) didn't think of sourcemod.

Thanks and best regards!
Kevin
