Maxwell Cody-2

Probably not, it's a Valve map, not a community map. It didn't come from the workshop.

All of their other maps are up there. they put overpass up there when they made that one. i don't know why this map would be the exception.

Re: Where is de_canals on the workshop?

Workshop only has the compatibility versions of Valve made maps for
backwards redudancy so overwatch demos can be viewed if map has been
updated . The recent most current version is on your pc.

As for community maps, those can be found from the workshop, and your pc
too if they have official status (been in operation).

Re: Where is de_canals on the workshop?

Absurd Minds
That's not true. All of the other valve maps are on there in their current version. The only ones that only have compatibility version are the operation maps. Nuke, inferno, dust2, even shortdust are all on the workshop under their account and not just compatibility version.

But where is canals? Did valve forget to add it or was the map actually made by someone else or what?

Canals was made by Valve 100%. Iikka Keränen visited Venice, and got
inspired. Did the map and there it is.

Alright well I guess they just forgot to put the official version on the workshop then. Does anyone know who the best person to email about that is? I'm not sure if they read this mailing list.

Re: Where is de_canals on the workshop?

Absurd Minds
Alright for anybody else also wanting the map on their workshop collection, I emailed valve and they said it would be put up on the workshop next update.

But where is canals? Did valve forget to add it or was the map actually made by someone else or what?

You might have just set a world record for fastest ever response time from Valve.

Canals was made by Valve 100%. Iikka Keränen visited Venice, and got inspired. Did the map and there it is.

Re: Where is de_canals on the workshop?

Vitaliy Genkin

The official map entries on Steam Workshop are just “dummy files” and don’t actually contain map content - the latest map content is distributed with the installation of CS:GO servers and clients, so dummy entries save everybody’s workshop downloads.

You have to wait for the nearest CS:GO update before those Steam Workshop item IDs can be put into rotation on community dedicated servers – the game contains special filesystem code that loads actual map distributed with the game instead of the official map Steam Workshop ID dummy files.

Sorry that it’s taking longer than 45 minutes… :)

It's up on the workshop now =)

Alright for anybody else also wanting the map on their workshop collection, I emailed valve and they said it would be put up on the workshop next update.

In reply to this post by Vitaliy Genkin
Why do I ALWAYS have to download Cache when I get it off the workshop, in that case?
